How to take care of your skin during Quarantine

One of the things that I have been personally experiencing after a couple of weeks of the quarantine, is that I'm spending more time inside my home, under AC, and not really having any contact with the sun or the outside weather.

Even though this might be ideal for me; as I'm not outside on a 90 degree weather, sweating and feeling miserable. my skin has not been feeling the same. I had to start using a little more skin moisturizers, with a more dense and oily finish; because my skin, even though I have oily skin, has been feeling a little dry. My lips have also been drier than normal too; so I wanted to write about it and give you a couple of tips to maintain a healthy, fresh and moist skin during this quarantine.

  1. First, analyze if there has been any changes: The very first thing is to really make sure your skin has changed. Being aware of the changes help you get the best help or the right help you need to solve the issue.

  2. If your skin is feeling drier than normal: I will recommend you to add some kind of oil to your routine. The oils I recommend are Castor Oil, Rose Oil, Jojoba Oil or Tea Tree Oil. A lot of people like to use Coconut Oil, but the reason I don't recommend it for the face, is because it is a very dense oil and tends to clog the pores. If you are an acne prone person, this oil can be an issue. For acne prone skin I recommend either Castor or Tea Tree Oil because of their antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties.

  3. If your skin is feeling more oily than normal: If this happens then you need to pay more attention to what skin care routine you are doing. Try to change it up by using a moisturizer that's water base during the day. Buy a good skin balancing toner, do more Detox Masks than hydrating ones, and lastly, make sure you cleanse your skin during day and at night before going to bed.

  4. Take your vitamins and Drink a lot of water: Make sure you're taking you vitamins A, E, C and D. This vitamins help your skin as well as Collagen, Q10, and Biotin. All of these vitamins help with your Kidneys, Heart, Lung, Muscles, Bones and Immune System. They help with the cell functions, metabolism, production and maintaining collagen levels. They have antioxidant properties, and of course all these factors in the end, reflect in your skin looking healthy. Drinking water will also play a huge role as this is one of the main factors of skin dehydration, and dryness. Make sure you're drinking enough water and keeping yourself hydrated at all times.

Hope this article helped you understand better how to maintain your skin looking good, no matter the situation you're going through, but the first thing is to be safe. Please follow all hygiene protocols, stay at home, and have the best positive attitude possible. We are all in this and we are going to overcome this together!

Be Safe!

Lennie.
